1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to NYCHROMEART, a division of Raven Lake Studio. By accessing our website at nychromeart.com, submitting a quote request, or using our chrome finishing services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you do not agree with any of these Terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing our website and services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and NYCHROMEART.

2. Our Services

NYCHROMEART provides professional chrome and metallic finishing services, including but not limited to:

  • Cosmichrome® spray chrome application
  • Matthew's Paint conventional chrome-effect systems
  • Surface preparation and priming
  • Custom tinted chrome finishes (gold, copper, black, custom colors)
  • Consultation on substrate compatibility and prep requirements

2.1 Service Limitations

Important: Cosmichrome® and similar spray chrome finishes are aesthetic-grade coatings designed for visual applications such as props, displays, and decorative pieces. These finishes are not a replacement for traditional industrial tank electroplating in applications requiring extreme abrasion resistance, continuous mechanical wear, or exposure to harsh chemicals.

We reserve the right to decline projects that are not suitable for our finishing systems or that fall outside our area of expertise.

3. Quotes & Pricing

3.1 Quote Validity

All quotes provided are estimates based on the information you provide and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified. Final pricing may be adjusted upon physical inspection of the item(s).

3.2 Quote Accuracy

To provide accurate quotes, we require:

  • Clear photographs of the item(s) from multiple angles
  • Accurate dimensions (length, width, height)
  • Substrate material identification

3.3 Price Adjustments

We reserve the right to adjust pricing if:

  • The actual condition differs significantly from the provided description or photos

  • Hidden defects are discovered during the prep process
  • Project scope changes after work has begun

Any price adjustments will be communicated and approved by you before proceeding.

  • Item(s) have been received at our facility

4.2 Deposits

A deposit of 50% may be required for projects exceeding $500. Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced.

5. Substrate Preparation

5.1 The 1200-Grit Standard

All substrates must be prepared to a minimum of 1200-grit surface finish before chrome application. This is a non-negotiable requirement for achieving optical-quality mirror chrome results.

5.2 Client-Prepared Items

If you prepare your own items:

  • Items must be free of dust, oils, and contaminants
  • All seams, layer lines, and defects must be filled and sanded smooth
  • We will inspect all items upon receipt
  • Additional prep charges may apply if items do not meet our standards

5.3 Prep Services

We offer full preparation services at additional cost. This includes sanding, priming, defect repair, and surface refinement to chrome-ready condition.

5.4 Substrate Compatibility

While Cosmichrome® works on most substrates, some materials may require special primers or may not be suitable. We will advise you during the quote process.

6. Turnaround & Delivery

6.1 Standard Turnaround

  • Standard: 1-2 weeks from receipt of chrome-ready items
